Kenl-Inn Pet Care Attendant attends to and cares for pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and other pets in the KENL INN facility.  Cleans and maintains pet areas and KENL INN property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Feed and provide water to pets according to schedule and instructions
  • Cleans and disinfects pet areas
  • Monitors pets for signs of illness and cares for them according to instructions
  • Documents according to instructions i.e. Admissions assessment, diet, medications, food intake, eliminations, and signs of illness, etc.

Ken-Inn Facility Maintenance Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems within our facility. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and equipment failures, and take necessary actions to mitigate the impact on guests and staff.

Kenl-Inn Dog Training Manager facilitates and coordinates educational classes, training in safety and dog training. Responsible for the administration of safety functions within KENL INN in the most professional, timely, accurate, and profitable manner. Conduct or delegate on-site safety inspections.   • Coordinates and instructs others in dog training, following KENL INN training program guidelines

Kenl-Inn Customer Service Representative is responsible for customer service, reservations, retail inventory, processing invoices & payments, processing enrollments and administrative duties in support of these functions.  Additionally, they are responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the reception/retail area.  The Customer Service Representative reports to the Front Office Manager.

Primary Duties

  • Our priority is servicing the clients that are in our center by greeting everyone who enters and helping (i.e., clients on the phone should be asked to hold while you greet a client that enters or ask for a number & call back the client on the phone).  Attempt to call clients by their first names and acknowledge their dog by name too.  Thank them for doing business with us and encourage them to return.
  • Telephone calls should be answered promptly with the Company greeting, your name and an offer of assistance.  Calls for management should be screened and announced – not just put through. If the person being called is not in, ask if they would like voice mail. If not, document messages for management on phone message pads complete with date, time of call, phone number, complete message & your initials.  Check phone frequently for missed call messages and return promptly.
  • Show appreciation to our clients for visiting and encourage them to use our services. 
  • Utilize friendly sales techniques to upsell clients additional service and products that will benefit their pets.
  • Work with dissatisfied clients to resolve issues to retain clients.
  • Give tours of the facility using tour script and stations to potential customers and answer questions regarding our services, policies and procedures.  Explain our focus on pet activities, wellness and quality care provided in all our services.
  • Coordinate with Kennel staff when opening or closing to ensure proper pet care.
  • Making and soliciting new client reservations.
  • Enter “complete” client reservations in point-of-sale system as outlined in Bookings procedures; including extra charges as per pet policies (e.g., pick up fees, half day board fees, etc.).
  • Receive payments and process invoices as described in the Invoice Processing procedures.  Timely collect all invoices.
  • At check-in confirm current client contact information & care instructions for pet for all services to be provided. 
  • It is critical to accuracy in billing and pet care that all pets and services are entered 100% correct in point-of-sale system.
  • Check pets in as they arrive.
  • Grooming Services – confirm pick-up time & phone call if we are to call when ready.  For new clients or a change in instructions from last visit ask the client to complete Groom Instruction form.
  • Daycare – confirm Daycare Agreement is on file, pick-up time and add lunch if applicable.
  • Lodging – complete inventory of luggage, feeding and medication instructions as per procedure.
  • Training – confirm training department has instructions or meets with client at arrival. 
  • Processing enrollment paperwork accurately & timely is a high priority and procedures followed for daycare & boarding.
  • Monitoring, following-up and documenting pet vaccinations in accordance to procedures is a high priority of the position.
  • Assist clients in sale of retail inventory.
  • Keep inventory stock clean, neat and pulled to front of shelving.
  • Create member renewal letters as assigned
  • Cold calls to thank clients for the business and ask to make new reservations
  • Print copies of daily reports for reception area for all service areas. 
  • File paperwork in client files as outlined.
  • Cleaning tasks are completed after each associate’s shift and as outlined in reception duties checklist.

Kenl-Inn Bather/Brusher’s primary duties are to properly prepare, bathe and finish pets by using humane practices and minimizing pet stress. Additionally, the Bather/Brusher is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the groom shop. Pet Care Counselors may be cross-trained in bather/brusher procedures for the groom shop. The Bather/Brusher works under the supervision of the Pet Care Coordinator, Senior Groomer &/or Groom Shop Manager and reports to the Pet Care Manager.

Primary Duties

  1. Perform bath functions as requested by client and described on the groom card
    • a. Nail trim
    • b. Tooth brushing
    • c. Brush-out
    • d. Bath
  2. Prepare dogs for bathing in accordance to procedures
    • a. Brush out dog with proper tools
    • b. Trim nails
    • c. Clean ears
  3. Bathe dogs as described in procedures
  4. Dry dogs completely
    • a. When time permits hand dry dogs completely
    • b. Cage dryer is to be used for bath dogs, intermediate drying of groom dogs, and for dogs that are overstressed by the hand dryer
    • c. All groom dogs must be completely dry and finished drying by hand
  5. Finish dogs as described in procedures
    • a. All dogs should be finish brushed and combed.
    • b. Bath dogs should have cologne and bandana applied unless client requests otherwise.
  6. Keep bathing stations stocked with supplies, tools cleaned and ready for use.
  7. Keep groom shop clean
    • a. During the work day keep the room safe by wiping up water spills and pet accidents as soon as possible
    • b. At the end of each workday all hair should be swept/mopped from the floor and cleaned from tubs/shower
    • c. Holding cages should be ready for next day’s arrivals
  8. Update pet status on white board and point of sale system. Advise receptionist when dogs that are to be “called when ready” are finished.
  9. Walk dogs that are kept in groom shop in accordance to procedures and note time of walk on white board or groom card
  10. Follow safety procedures for pets and staff at all times. Ask for assistance when a pet is stressed, very difficult to manage or showing any signs of injury.
