Job Overview:

Job Overview:

The PM Kennel Supervisor is responsible for supervising all nightly animal care in the daycare, lodging sections and administrative duties in support of these functions. Additionally, they are responsible for supervising the Pet Counselors and ensuring the maintenance, cleaning and care of the pet center. The Kennel Supervisor reports to the Kennel Manager.

Primary Duties

  1. Animal Care

    a. Our priority is compassionate care for the animals that are in our center by minimizing stress, ensuring safety and care as outlined in company procedures. Ensure consistency in animal care by all counselors and effective communication between shifts.
    b. Troubleshoot dog behavior issues and staff handling problems. Utilize basic obedience skills with problem dogs.
    c. Troubleshoot dog care issues and staff handling problems. Take steps to resolve feeding/elimination/stress issues timely.
    d. Work with clients and company management/Professional Dog Trainers to resolve dog behavior issues.
    e. Monitor dog incident reports and escalate continual issues to management.
    f. Ensure all Pet Counselors follow pet care schedule daily for consistent care.
  1. Managing Staff Performance

    a. Work with Pet Counselors in planning daily duties and completion of all planning reports. Hold regular team huddles to facilitate communication and teamwork
    b. Monitor Pet Counselors supervising dog daycare playgroups to ensure procedures are properly followed, daily schedule is adhered to, and constructive feedback is provided to as needed.
    c. Monitor Pet Counselors boarding, cat boarding to ensure procedures are properly followed and constructive feedback is provided to as needed.
    d. Monitor pet care and cleaning paperwork to ensure proper completion of duties and procedures are followed.
    e. Maintain procedures for all kennel functions making changes as needed and proposing new procedures to management.
    f. Establish with manager key performance targets for key procedures and tasks. Monitor compliance to performance targets by counselors.
    g. Assist in annual performance reviews for Pet Counselors.
  2. Training Pet Counselors

    a. Maintain training checklist to ensure it reflects all duties required to complete staff training.
    b. Train new staff in accordance with training checklist.
    c. Ensure regular checks on work performed to ensure consistency, quality and proper following of procedures by all staff.
    d. Provide positive feedback & performance improvement suggestions to staff and for new staff make training adjustments as needed.
  3. Staff Administration

    a. Adjust staffing schedule based on pet volumes as determined from daily planning worksheets.
    b. Perform staff interviews with Kennel Manager, and selection as outlined in Company Handbook.
    c. Document recurring staff performance issues on proper forms and counsel staff as outlined in Company Handbook.

Other Job Duties

  1. Management Projects
    a. Review daily and weekly reports for incomplete assignments & issues and work with coordinators to resolve.
    b. Monitor supply levels to ensure proper & timely reporting of items needed for purchase. Work with other Supervisors and Kennel Manager to ensure stock does not run out.
    c. Prepare and submit monthly management report for assigned area as scheduled
  2. Administrative
    a. Restock staff forms as needed.
    b. Ensure management employee file is complete and HR paperwork processed as per Company Handbook.
  3. Ensure weekend and holiday teams are prepared to handle pet and client issues as required. Serve as first line escalation for pet or facility emergency issues.

customer service roles or in the hospitality industry are required. Good communication skills, both
written and verbal, are required, as a reservation agent is responsible for interacting with potential
customers. Basic computer skills are necessary as agents must navigate our new reservation system
and database programs. Working as a Kenl Inn Reservation Agent requires a friendly and professional

Kenl-Inn Dog Training Manager facilitates and coordinates educational classes, training in safety and dog training. Responsible for the administration of safety functions within KENL INN in the most professional, timely, accurate, and profitable manner. Conduct or delegate on-site safety inspections. Coordinate, facilitate or delegate safety training presentations in staff meetings and/or training events. Ensure state, federal and company documentation is accurate and legally sound. Coordinate, facilitate or delegate the various dog training schedules and classes. Develop additional dog training activities/programs. Directly reports to the General Manager for proper direction, interpretation and evaluation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and instructs others in dog training, following KENL INN training program guidelines

General Summary of Job – Hourly Position - $15.00 - $20.00, Depending on Experience

The Dog Trainer is responsible for execution and oversight of daily pet dog training services including training dogs, puppy potty & crate training and daycare dog drills training sessions. Additionally, they are responsible for assisting/leading training classes, class orientation and private training. The Dog Trainer assists with training sales efforts and communication with clients regarding training needs or behavior issues/concerns. They also assist with training new pet care counselors and troubleshooting dog behavior issues within the facility. The Dog Trainer reports to the Training Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct dog/client training, including group classes, daycare training and private sessions.
    Document training plan for each pet and progress toward training goals.

Kenl-Inn Bather/Brusher’s primary duties are to properly prepare, bathe and finish pets by using humane practices and minimizing pet stress. Additionally, the Bather/Brusher is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the groom shop. Pet Care Counselors may be cross-trained in bather/brusher procedures for the groom shop. The Bather/Brusher works under the supervision of the Pet Care Coordinator, Senior Groomer &/or Groom Shop Manager and reports to the Pet Care Manager.

Primary Duties

  1. Perform bath functions as requested by client and described on the groom card
    • a. Nail trim
    • b. Tooth brushing
    • c. Brush-out
    • d. Bath
  2. Prepare dogs for bathing in accordance to procedures
    • a. Brush out dog with proper tools
    • b. Trim nails
    • c. Clean ears
  3. Bathe dogs as described in procedures
  4. Dry dogs completely
    • a. When time permits hand dry dogs completely
    • b. Cage dryer is to be used for bath dogs, intermediate drying of groom dogs, and for dogs that are overstressed by the hand dryer

  7. Keep groom shop clean
    • a. During the work day keep the room safe by wiping up water spills and pet accidents as soon as possible
    • b. At the end of each workday all hair should be swept/mopped from the floor and cleaned from tubs/shower
    • c. Holding cages should be ready for next day’s arrivals
  8. Update pet status on white board and point of sale system. Advise receptionist when dogs that are to be “called when ready” are finished.
  9. Walk dogs that are kept in groom shop in accordance to procedures and note time of walk on white board or groom card
  10. Follow safety procedures for pets and staff at all times. Ask for assistance when a pet is stressed, very difficult to manage or showing any signs of injury.
