The Manager – Kennel and Pet Care Services supervises all KENL INN Pet Care Attendants and is responsible for the quality and quantity of services provided as well as the financial viability of the department. Work includes ensuring self and team adhere to KENL INN quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises and coordinates all Pet Care Attendants. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with KENL INN’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Monitors and coordinates daily work schedule to expedite accomplishment or essential and emergency tasks. Issues instructions to staff, examines work results, and provides training to improve performance.
  • Develops and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of staff.
  • Interprets Company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems and/or assists staff in resolving work problems
  • Interviews candidates in accordance with best practices
  • Hires qualified candidates and trains to set new employees up for success, to include all Onboarding responsibilities
  • Appraises performance on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis
  • Coordinates the ordering of supplies and equipment and maintains inventory control in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Promotes a safe and calming environment by ensuring that techniques and restraints
  • Report to the GM any failures to adhere to state, federal, or county regulations or KENL INN work ethics and standards
  • Report to General Manager any deviation from scheduling or quality of service that may become a potential liability or result in client complaints
  • Performs related work as required and specified by the General Manager.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with other staff to ensure coordination of activities
  • Ability to promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships with all employees and departments.
  • Ability to properly manage, exercise, and control large and/or difficult pets
  • Skilled at possessing professionalism, courtesy, tact, and sound judgment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, staff, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of computer database software applications
  • Skilled at working with a diverse group of customers and co-workers
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and business Plans and Actions
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and work a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer and company information
  • Knowledge of KENL INN Code of Ethics, Pet Care Code of Ethics, KENL INN policy, law, and ability to implement principals and regulations within job duties and interactions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Owner, coworkers, customers, and other management
  • Able to work AM or PM shifts, overtime, holidays, weekends as needed

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two – four years of experience with companion pets, hospitality and basic knowledge of pet behavior & characteristics is required
  • Pet and Human CPR Certification – willing to be certified in the first 60 days of employment
